The Coolabah Hotel is a Sihanoukville institution.

Coolabah was once one of the most popular hotels in Sihanoukville, because it was one of the only ones in town with a pool. These days it’s got a lot more competition in that regard, but it still maintains its excellent reputation. Air-conditioned rooms range in price from $35 to $55 per night and feature LCD TVs, refrigerators, hot water, enclosed showers, and high-quality mattresses that your back will thank you for.

The rooms are immaculately clean, although you will need to navigate some stairs to reach the top floors (elevators haven’t made it to Sihanoukville yet). There are several room types priced between $35 and $55, including family rooms and suites. These are the prices we were quoted in person; however, they often offer the same rooms at Coolabah Hotel on Agoda for as low as $20 in low season.

There’s also a Bodia Spa outlet on site where you can purchase made-in-Cambodia spa products. As you might guess by the name, Coolabah Hotel used to be Australian owned, but it has recently been taken over by a Russian family. The standards have not dropped since the takeover, though, and the attached Outback Bistro still features the European and Asian menu, heavy on seafood and steaks, that has made it a Sihanoukville institution.
