We’ve already covered a selection of play spaces for young kids in Siem Reap, but there’s even more for older kids and teens. Here are some fun options of things to do in Siem Reap for older kids and teens who are looking to run off some energy or try something new. Best of all, they’re all just as much fun for adults, too!

Cambodia’s one-and-only wake park is at ICF Cambodia in Siem Reap.

Local NGO ICF Cambodia has a ninja obstacle course suspended across a large pond for anyone up to the challenge. It includes wooden planks, swinging bars, tyres and rope nets. After that, you can take a dip off their diving platforms, or cross the road to Cambodia’s one-and-only wake park for more water fun. The ICF Wake Park offers wakeboarding, water skiing and knee boarding — you’ll be pulled around a track on their custom-built pond. There are obstacles and jumps for those keen on advanced options. They offer hourly access starting at $19/hour (or $24 for 2 hours), and they also offer one-year memberships for unlimited fun. Safety gear and all necessary equipment is included.

Adjacent to the wakeboarding pond is a little sandy beach and swimming area with shade umbrellas and beach chairs for anyone to enjoy. They have hammocks and a trampoline as well. The café onsite serves a selection of western and Khmer dishes and drinks.

Siem Reap finally has a beach, and it’s perfect for kids of all ages.

There is also a futsal (mini soccer) field, two beach volleyball courts and four packed-earth tennis courts at the ICF site (on the same side of the road as the ninja course). Bring your own gear but access is free to anyone. The place has clean toilets and drinking fountains as well as picnic tables.

The site is a little out of town, but there is a link to Google Maps at the end of this post. It’s best accessed via roads from the west for a smoother trip.

Angkor Climber’s Net climbing wall is open to the public on Sunday mornings.

For a different kind of challenge, NGO Angkor Climber’s Net has a climbing wall which is open to the public on Sunday mornings. They ask for a donation of $10 on your first visit and $3 per visit thereafter. They are willing to open at other times upon request as well.

Hidden down an alley off Bamboo Street in the Wat Damnak area, you’ll find a roller rink with mounds and ramps. K2 Skate Park Club rents rollerblades for $1-2 per hour, depending on the blades you choose. They have sizes for toddlers through adults. The place can get busy at times and the floors are quite slick, so best suited for older kids and teens. They don’t offer skateboards for rent but you are welcome to bring your own.

Angkor Eye(sore) is one of Asia’s largest Ferris wheels.

For views of Siem Reap and a bit of fun, the new Angkor Eye offers an 18-minute ride in air-conditioned glass capsules. The giant Ferris wheel is 85 meters high, one of the biggest in Asia. Located next to Boxville on Road 6, it is open daily from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children aged 4 to 12. Kids 3 and under ride free.

If you want to go even higher, Angkor Balloon offers 10 to 15 minute rides 120 meters up in the basket of a tethered helium balloon. Located near Angkor Wat, it offers stunning views of the temple complex, West Baray, the Kulen mountains, and the surrounding countryside and sugar palm-dotted rice paddies. Rides cost $15 for adults and $7 for kids (sunrise or sunset rides cost extra).

Expats with a long-term visa to prove it get a generous discount. Rides are weather dependent — call ahead to check.

Angkor Watt Putt is one of Siem Reap’s best activities for crazy golfers of all ages.

Angkor Wat Putt offers a couple hours’ worth of mini-golfing fun in a leafy garden setting on the outskirts of town to the south. Best done late afternoon or early morning before the sun beats down heavily, this 14-hole temple-themed crazy-golf course is a great activity for the whole family! Rates for adults are $5/$8/$10 for one, two, or three rounds, and they offer discounts for children and expats. The little bar onsite sells beer, soft drinks, and fresh coconuts to re-hydrate and they deliver to wherever you happen to be on the course.

K-VR Land at street level in the Pub Plaza building on Sivutha Blvd has simulated adventure rides for older kids, teens and adults. Want to sky dive but worried about the risk? Their skydiving simulator allows you to ‘fall’ while safely hanging just above the floor in a harness. Other exciting-looking rides include the drone ride and paragliding simulator. Most rides are $2 for about 5 minutes. They also have a hunting game with a massive screen for multiple players, air hockey, and some arcade games.

Siem Reap even has a waterpark with waterslides!

Tucked away in the eastern side of town, Water Park Khnar has a large pool with straight open-air waterslides as well as a kiddie pool with an enclosed slide and a giant bucket that fills and spills, splashing everyone below. The large pool has a deeper area for swimming. The restaurant on site offers tasty Khmer dishes as well as beer and soft drinks for reasonable prices. They also have shade bungalows for rent if you want to make a day of it. Entry to the pool is $1 per person.

ArtBox offers a glimpse at snow-covered temples of Angkor, faraway ancient Egyptian ruins and an underwater world, amongst other creative 2 and 3-D backdrops, allowing visitors to pose for entertaining and interesting photos. Markings on the floor indicate where to stand for the best angles and shots. A fun indoor activity for all ages – you’ll come away with some funny pics for your social media pages! Currently only open on a limited schedule due to COVID-19, so call to check their schedule before you plan a trip.
