Basic bungalows at Natural Island Resort offer the chance to unwind and enjoy the sea.
Location, location, location! Natural Island’s basic bungalows are excellently situated on the white sands of Saracen Bay. We think calling it a resort is a bit of a stretch, but Natural Island does offer a nice place to enjoy the beach, with a few caveats.
Naturally you’d want to stay at Natural Island Resort.
The bungalows are well constructed but still fairly basic; they are fan-cooled and have cool- water showers, and the ceilings have open slats, which helps with air circulation but makes them more vulnerable to mosquitoes. However, they have mosquito nets on each bed and, when we visited, pristine white sheets. Each bungalow has a private balcony with table and chairs, and there’s a spray hose at the bottom of the steps so you don’t track sand inside.
The bungalows are simple and all natural.
The seaview bungalows are directly on the beach and have one double bed and one single bed and beautiful views that you can enjoy from your balcony. The garden-view bungalows have either one double bed and one single or one double and offer partial sea views.
Breakfast is included with the booking, although the service in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. However, the restaurant has WiFi, so you may end up spending time there if you need to connect. The bungalows have electricity for most of the day, but it’s off from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
It’s all worth it for the view!
We were quoted the following prices at Natural Island Bungalows, Koh Rong Sanloem:
- Seaview bungalow: $60 in high season, $40 in low season
- Garden-view bungalow: $50 in high season, $30 in low season
Walk-in rates are the same as what you’ll find online, although Agoda can be $1 or $2 cheaper.
